Day 12 of Merry Motivation

Do the Things You Know to Do.....like get your zzzzzzz's this holiday season.

Wish you had it as good as these pups? Having trouble getting in that much needed sleep? It's something I hear over and over again from my clients. Being tired is not the only result of sleep deprivation. According to Web MD sleep deprivation can cause the following

- Increased accidents and injuries which can be life changing

- Decreased cognitive attention

- Heart attack, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke...no joke.

- Reduced Libido

- Depression

- Poor complexion and aged skin

- Weight Gain

Below are a some tips to ZZZZinging it up that have worked for some of my clients, perhaps they may work for you.

1 - Decrease Caffeine Intake.

2 - If it is your mind keeping you awake, make a to do list to get it out from wizzing around your brain and onto paper and say a peace out prayer.

3 - Skip the night cap. See what Psychology Today has to say about why it could have the opposite effect.

4 - Shut off all electronic devices. You can do it! Even they need to recharge.

5 - Make sure you finish your last meal in plenty of time to digest before getting horizontal.

6 - Try your hardest not to fall asleep early in front of the tube, making it difficult for some to fall back to sleep after transitioning to the bedroom.

7 - Get in some physical activity! This has been the most successful way to help my clients get their regular sleep pattern back and better than ever. They say it never fails. I believe them. Try it!
