Love those over priced Acai bowls? Me?....well, the price sometimes gets in the way of the taste and you know what else? There is a ton of sugar in those things. Not natural sugar, added sugar. I happen to be married to a Brasilian and I know that when I go to actually buy the açaí frozen to make at home, it is already pureed with sugar. Maybe not every single brand, but all the ones I have seen. I'm here to show you a better way.
What I do love is the idea of getting in lots of fruits and superfoods in a way that feels like indulging without actually overdoing it. Here is how I do it.
1. Grab your favorite frozen fruit whether bought frozen or prepped and self frozen and get crazy. Get out your blender and add it to the blender cup/pitcher with a little bit of water or almond milk. Juice could work too, but then that sugar content starts getting up there. Blend with 1/8th of a large sweet avocado to make it creamy.
2. Pour into a bowl
3. Top with raw cacao, unsweetened coconut, 1/2 banana & some super seeds like chia
5. Look at the recipe to make sure you didn't miss anything. I know you want more details, but there aren't any real necessary ones. Keep it simple. Fruit in blender, liquid just enough for it to blend, top and that's it.
6. Add up how much you saved by making this at home.
